Zylee Augenstein is a senior at Branham High School, but she isn’t just any senior at Branham. Augenstein is a student-athlete who managed to play two sports throughout her high school career, softball, and field hockey.
While she is extremely talented at both of these sports, her passion remains on a dirt field where she crushes the ball with her bat and stops any ball that comes her way with her golden glove. This skills video showcases Zylee’s softball skills, fundamentals, and live game footage.
Augenstein has played at the varsity level all four years at Branham. She starts at second base for Branham High School and hits in the number four spot in their line-up. So far, during these four years, she has an overall batting average of .377, .395 overall on-base percentage, 82 hits, and 50 RBIs.
Not only do her statistics prove that she can perform competitively in this sport; she also has a tenacious, positive, and motivating attitude. Her positive attitude encourages her level of gameplay and it also drives her teammates to reach a higher level success. Zylee’s teammates have elected her as captain two years in a row because of her ability to motivate, support, and lead by example.
Augenstein is the type of player that her teammates and coaches appreciate on and off the field. Her work hard attitude, fun loving personality, and talent is something that everyone appreciates. Any school would be extremely fortunate to have a leader with talent on their team.
