A vacation getaway on California’s beautiful Shasta Lake.

Silverthorn Resort Marina and Pub never disappoints. This was our second trip on a houseboat at Shasta Lake and it will be the trip we continue to remember and talk about for a lifetime. For this trip, we vacationed on the Queen Houseboat from Silverthorn Resort, which is the most elite of their selection. I would recommend this houseboat to all who are interested in having these features:

  1. Master penthouse suite with a private bathroom
  2. Two stories high
  3. BBQ/Bar seating area on the second deck
  4. Three private staterooms, plus a bonus room
  5. Hot tub on the top deck
  6. Slide with a drop to cool off in the lake

It had everything we could possibly need/want to have a great time and much more. Shasta Lake is a beautiful lake to vacation on, but it also has hidden treasure spots that you would love to visit during your trip. My family, friends, and I traveled to a secret location in the area of Little Backbone Creek. At the very end of Little Backbone Creek is a nature slide area. The hike to this nature slide takes about 15 to 20 minutes to get to, but in the end, it is most definitely worth it. You can see a glimpse of the nature slide in my film from 0:52-1:01 and 1:18-1:22. This hidden location alone is worth the trip to Shasta Lake!

Shasta Lake is one of my favorite places to fly my Mavic Pro Drone! Especially when I can follow my loved ones as they kneeboard from the ski boat and capture my all-time favorite golden orange sunsets. When I’m riding the kneeboard, I’m holding onto my GoPro Hero 4 along with my floating GoPole.

Everything about our Shasta Lake vacation was perfect. Caravaning on the way out to the lake, loading up our boat, choosing which room we wanted to sleep in, anxiously waiting to jump into the water as we travel to find a great spot to stop, sliding of the boat into the water, warming up in the hot tub, BBQing and dancing with loved ones, finding neat hidden spots within the lake, fishing, challenging yourself to get up on that kneeboard, bailing as you’re flying on a tube, and enjoying the warm summer nights playing cards.

The only bad part about it all is having to pack up and head back home. Can’t wait to do it all over again next summer to relive these moments all over again. Until next year, Shasta Lake.
